An universal component of good life is self -esteem which is a sense of worth and self respect of not being used as a tool  by others for their own needs .Due to the significance attached to material values in developed nations, worthiness and esteem are now a days increasingly conferred only on countries that posses economic wealth and technological power -those that have developed.

However , with the proliferation of the '' modernizing values'' of developed nations, many societies in developed nations that have had a profound sense of their own worth suffer from serious cultural confusion when they come in contact with economically and technologically advanced societies. This is because national prosperity has become an almost universal measure of worth.

Almost all developed nations see themselves as confident nations cause they possess great economic wealth and hence it is the truth of today's world that country with economic wealth has a stand in this world. No one listens a poor philosopher and it is enough to say why economic wealth is a key to self esteem.

If a country want to increase its stand among other nations then it must increase its per capita income along with social harmony because in long run social harmony keeps economy tied with growth .
